Dear Alumni:
Welcome back to The Red Oaks School (formerly MCH or Montessori Children’s House of Morristown)! We are so pleased that you found your way here! You hold a very special place in the hearts of the teachers and staff of The Red Oaks School, (or MCH, to many of you!).
We welcome all former students from throughout the 43-year history of this very special school. For some who are recently departed, your memories of this school are fresh, and you are probably eager to maintain the connections and friendships you formed here. For others the time is longer, in some cases very long, and you are reaching out to reconnect with old friends and teachers, or perhaps you’re just curious about how your former school has evolved since you left. We want all of you to know that you are important to us, and we want to build lasting connections with you and with the broader community of The Red Oaks School/MCH alumni.
As you will note from our Web site, some things have changed while others have remained remarkably stable. We have new faces, a new name, fresh improvements—yet, at its core, this is very much the school you grew up in, a school that:
- Fosters respect and caring between teachers and students
- Embraces an interdisciplinary and multi-sensory approach to education
- Cultivates a sense of belonging to a community of learners
- Celebrates the joy of learning
These are the essential elements that bind us together as a community of alumni, faculty and friends. These are the elements that we cherish and want to strengthen as we move forward in the 21st century.
We are eager to build our alumni community, and we need you to help us to do that. Please click on the link below to provide us with your current contact information. By doing so, you will be automatically enrolled in our new Alumni Association,
The Red Oaks Society, a community of alumni and friends formed to develop and strengthen the bonds we share as a community. As a member of
The Red Oaks Society, you will enjoy a range of benefits, including:
- Email updates
- Invitations to school events
- Access to a new Alumni section of our Web site where you can share news
and stay connected with other alumni
- An opportunity to take part in an exciting long-term study of the effects of a Montessori education
Whether your time as a student at The Red Oaks School/MCH was brief or whether you “went the distance” from preschool through 6th grade, and everything in between, you remain a vital part of the life and history of this school. We want to continue to be a part of yours.
Warm Regards,
