Once you’ve decided to apply to The Red Oaks School, the first step is to submit a
Parent Questionnaire and $75
Application Fee. All application documents are available for download in the
Application Forms section, or you can request an application from our Admission Office. The application deadline is noted in the
Important Dates section of the website.
In addition, if your child has undergone any kind of educational or psychological testing that would not be provided to us under the records release from your child’s current school (e.g., such as by an independent psychologist, physician, or other professional), please supply The Red Oaks School with a copy of all test results, reports, diagnoses, and/or recommendations.

There are several items that should be submitted directly to The Red Oaks School from other third parties, in most cases your child’s current school. You will need to supply these third parties with the necessary forms and appropriate releases as noted below:
Student Referral Form – There are 3 different versions of this document in our
Application Forms; one for children applying to our Early Childhood program (ages 3-K); one for children applying for Lower Elementary (grades 1-3); and one for children applying for Upper Elementary (grades 4-6). Please supply the appropriate form to your child’s current school/teacher, or if your child is not in school, to a non-family adult who has spent time with your child. This non-family adult could be a physician, activity or sports teacher, nanny or sitter, or other adult.
Authorization for Release of Records – If your child is currently in school, please provide the school with a signed release (available in the
Application Forms) allowing them to supply The Red Oaks School with all transcripts, progress reports, and related material.

Once we receive the
Parent Questionnaire and the Application Fee, we will contact you to schedule an interview for your child. For students applying to our early childhood program (ages 3-K) or 1st grade, interviews last approximately ½ hour and take place on a designated Saturday morning. See
Important Dates for interview schedules pertaining to the current admission season. For all other students, interviews will consist of a 2-hour classroom visit to be scheduled at a mutually convenient time.

Parent interviews are scheduled at the discretion of the Admission Director and will take place with the Director of Admission or with our Head of School.

Once the interview is complete and all forms and materials have been received (please see our Application Checklist in the
Application Forms section), the application is complete. Admission decisions are made in February and notifications completed by early March. Please consult
Important Dates to determine specific notification dates for the current admission season.
