When children leave the nest and start their educational journey, they look for the ideal setting for their child. The Early Childhood Program is exceptional in meeting a child's social, emotional, and academic needs.
What sets apart a Montessori preschool from a traditional preschool?
Montessori instruction focuses on fostering your child's skills using developmentally appropriate, hands-on materials.
Instruction is focused on skills that prepare children to be independent and feel capable. "Practical life skills" are taught so children can care for their own dressing, feeding, and cleaning. Most skills have indirect goals that prepare them for academic learning too!
The learning environment is crafted with care to pique your child's interest. This child-centered approach allows for freedom of movement while building self-discipline and awareness of social expectations.
There are long blocks of instructional time to develop focus and construct conceptual understanding. The child has some autonomy to build intrinsic motivation and curiosity.
The multi-age learning environment cultivates prosocial behavior. Students seek modeling and advice from one another and learn collaboration and respect for one another and their classroom.
Montessori instruction is process-oriented and individualized. Children have the opportunity to work at their own pace and can work to their potential without limits!

- Improving language skills with an introduction to simple Spanish
Technology, more of a distraction than a learning tool at this early age, is intentionally absent from all our Early Childhood Education classrooms, introduced later to our elementary students as a valuable learning aid.

An early and valuable introduction to the arts
Through our early childhood arts programs, students are encouraged to explore the world around them, express thoughts and emotions, and learn new words and the meaning of words, through singing, dancing, drawing, and dramatic play. We realize these early formative years are the ideal time to use the arts, fun and exciting in nature, to instill creativity, a love of learning and the motivation to attend school.
