Early Childhood Classroom Teacher – Ages 3-6 Montessori Classroom
Lower Elementary Classroom Teacher – Grades 1-2

Early Childhood Classroom Teacher – Ages 3-6 Montessori Classroom

We seek a dedicated, experienced Montessori Early Childhood Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will deeply understand the Montessori philosophy and a strong commitment to the holistic development of children aged 3-6. Successful candidates would join our close-knit community and regard productive working partnerships with student families as essential tools for whole-child education.

Responsibilities:

Create a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports the growth and development of each child.
Implement the Montessori curriculum, including preparing and maintaining a Montessori classroom environment that adapts to students’ abilities and needs throughout the school year.
Plan and lead engaging and developmentally appropriate activities that promote independence, self-confidence, and a love of learning. ---Observe and assess each child's progress and provide individualized support as needed.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on their child's development and progress.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
Participate in professional development opportunities to continue learning and growing as an educator.
Fulfill professional duties, which include, but are not limited to, attending special events, writing communications and progress reports, speaking with potential families, and conducting procedures.

Qualifications:

Montessori Early Childhood (3-6) Certification from an AMS-accredited training center.
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
Previous experience working with children aged 3-6 in a Montessori setting.
Strong understanding of child development and the Montessori philosophy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders.

Lower Elementary Classroom Teacher – Grades 1-2

Primary responsibilities for this position include co-teaching students, a mixed-age group of first & second-grade learners in mathematics, language arts, social studies, and science content areas. At Red Oaks, we embrace the responsibility of educating the whole child and explicitly teach social-emotional skills and manners. Classroom teachers participate in all required school meetings, activities, and lower school community responsibilities. This person must be able to teach a developmentally appropriate curriculum while also differentiating instruction for small groups and individual needs. Lower elementary students have individual Chromebooks, so we expect some aptitude with technology.

Responsibilities:

Implement and assess curriculum programs while supporting individuals with differentiated teaching methods.
Assess students consistently and interpret data to inform instruction.
Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment with developmentally appropriate rules, procedures, games, and activities.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate professionally to parents in written and verbal contexts
Collaborate respectfully with co-teachers, division teachers, and the broader community of faculty and staff.
Supervise students in the classroom and during transitions and recess periods.
Fulfill professional duties, which include, but are not limited to, attending special events, preparing and conducting student-led conferences, writing progress reports, speaking with potential families, arrival/dismissal procedures, and seeking/attending professional development opportunities.
Prepare students for application projects and demonstrations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Education or a related field.
Montessori teaching certification is preferred but not required.
Experience teaching reading, writing, phonics, social studies, and mathematics at the elementary level.
Experience preferred with the following curricular and social-emotional learning methods: Teachers College Units of Study for Reading and Writing; Singapore Math (Primary Mathematics or Math in Focus), multisensory phonics; Responsive Classroom.
A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the elementary level is preferred.
