This fun and jazzy weekly class will consist of dance, & acrobatics. Get ready for an awesome time in our dance and gymnastics program! Miss Dia from Sharon’s School of Dance works with our young students to have fun while learning! Groove to upbeat music, learn jazz, dance moves, and put together fun combos that make you feel like a star. Students will flip into action with acrobatics – stretching, balancing, and building strength, while developing hand-eye coordination skills. This class is full of energy, creativity, and confidence-building fun!

Kids uncover how science shapes the world around them! They’ll explore animals on land and under the sea, mix wild chemistry creations, and dive into the forces of motion and energy. Packed with hands-on experiments, exciting discoveries, and mind-blowing fun, this program makes science come to life!

Eyes of the Wild Habitat Adventures (TH)

Eyes of the Wild Habitat Adventures

In this series, we will learn about different types of habitats and the special adaptations creatures need to survive in them. The children will be introduced to several different biomes: rainforests, deserts, grasslands, temperate forests, and the frozen tundra. Through live animal presentations, and a combination of games, stories, crafts and other activities (as deemed appropriate for each age group and audience size), we will explore each biome and learn what it is like to eke out a living in the desert, to survive at different levels of the rainforest, and many other interesting things. Each week we will meet a few different animals, from the cute, cuddly chinchilla to the amazing alligator or wallaby, and many more!

*Our ability to provide crafts, games, activities, etc. is dependent upon the age range and number of children enrolled in the class.

After a successful performance at the Red Oaks Winter Performing Arts Night, we’re excited to open registration for a new session of Chorus for students in Lower and Upper Elementary! Led by Ms. Melissa, rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays from 3:30–4:00 pm. Students will continue developing choral skills and healthy singing habits in a fun, supportive environment. Performance opportunities will be announced at a later date.

Students who are participating in Chorus will be dismissed from school at 3:15 to childcare.

The International Chess Academy chess program instructs students on how to think logically and creatively! Students will partake in chess strategy lessons, solve problems to improve their tactical ability and foresight, and hone their skills with supervised practice games. There will also be opportunities for teamwork to emphasize the power and importance of respecting and building upon the ideas of others. Our coaches all have many years of experience in working with kids of all ages and creating a fun and engaging atmosphere in which to teach chess. Students will learn all about chess and will love the game!

Receive keyboard lessons in a small group class from Red Oaks Music teacher, Ms. Melissa Santiago. Enrollment will be limited to only 4 students, in order to allow for personalized attention for each student. Students will learn beginner piano skills, including learning to play a song! The lessons will lead to a performance opportunity for students to showcase their hard work and learning experience. Registrations will be on a first come, first served basis.

Ignite your child's passion for STEM with iCode Tech Club. Students in Grades 1-4 will gain critical skills by building, coding, and testing their own robots, exploring foundational engineering concepts like simple machines, gears, and sensors. This hands-on, project-based curriculum fosters logical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, preparing them to be the innovators of tomorrow. See the excitement in action. The Tech Club seeks to achieve the following goals:

Robotics & Engineering Skills: Introduce fundamental concepts in robotics, engineering design, and basic programming logic through hands-on work with VEX GO/IQ kits.
Problem-Solving & Analysis: Encourage students to think logically and systematically to design robotic solutions, analyze mechanical systems (like gears and simple machines), and solve technical challenges (e.g., through final project work).

The volleyball clinic is open to all students in Grade 3-8 who wish to develop and hone their skills before the start of volleyball season. Sessions will focus on developing serving, passing, setting, spiking, and ball receiving skills in a variety of drills, challenges, and mini-games.

Soccer club is open to all students in Grade 3-8 who wish to develop their dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive skills while developing a greater understanding of strategies and tactics employed during a soccer game. They will use these skills and knowledge in a variety of games and activities, including mini-games and mini-tournaments.

No auditions and no experience necessary to join the middle school band! Bring a flute, clarinet, or saxophone and work with the ensemble to develop basic playing techniques. Limited availability for other instruments upon request. Returning or advanced members will be challenged with additional material. Fall Band will culminate with a performance at the Winter Concert.

Note: Instruments are not provided, but can be rented through The Music Shop.

The basketball team is open to all students in Grade 5-8 who wish to represent the school in competitive play against other schools. While all students will receive playing time, it will not be equal, and will be dependent upon a variety of factors including the strength of the opponent, game context, positional needs, attitude and effort, and attendance at practices. Practices will focus on team play, including offensive and defensive positioning, offensive plays, as well as skill development. *Games will be played against local schools, and parent carpool transportation will be required when traveling to away games.

This Art Club session invites students to explore the art of working with clay and plaster through creative problem-solving and hands-on making. Get your hands dirty and your creativity flowing! In Ceramics Club, middle school students will design, build, and create original artworks using clay. From functional bowls to imaginative sculptures, students will explore how ideas turn into 3D forms while learning ceramic techniques along the way. This club is perfect for students who love to create, experiment, and express themselves through art.

Climbing club is open to all students in Grade 3-8 who wish to develop the skills, knowledge, and strength necessary to engage in the sport of climbing. It will feature a stations-based approach to learning about different aspects of climbing, including safety and climbing etiquette, route planning, types of holds, hand and foot placement on the wall, and strength training. Students will be using the bouldering wall in the Middle School Gymnasium to develop their skills, and trips to local climbing gyms may be planned to give students additional opportunities to put their skills to use.
