Montessori & IB

Two Powerful Frameworks

At The Red Oaks School we know that adopting specific educational frameworks aligns mission, practice, and culture in a school – in a way that others can’t match.  Students in Pre-K through Grade 8 progress on a purposeful journey designed to meet their needs as they grow, beginning with modern Montessori in the early years and evolving to a respected International Baccalaureate program in Middle School. The rigor of this approach distinguishes Red Oaks from other schools.  It means our teachers are better trained.  It means our program draws on the absolute best educational methods available.  It means your child will have the tools they need to put them ahead.

  • Our modern approach to Montessori, blends traditional learning practices with evidence-based cognitive science.

  • Red Oaks offers something very few middle schools in the United States can: an Authorized IB Middle Years Programme.

An Integrated Approach You can only find here.

Both a Montessori and IB MYP education places particular emphasis on “learning how to learn” and on developing attitudes towards learning which students will retain throughout their lives.  The opportunity for “learning by doing” rather than “learning by receiving” is an important part of why both frameworks are so impactful.  Further, both pedagogies believe that as children view a topic from multiple perspectives, they deepen their capacity to understand complexity.

We have carefully integrated these two approaches in a way that you will only find at Red Oaks.
