Friday, June 1, 2018 marked Red Oaks Day at the Cutler Campus! This Spirit Day 2.0 featured a morning of our older students reading to younger students, and an afternoon pep rally where every class presented their own cheer. The pep rally culminated in a major announcement by Head of School, Marilyn Stewart. What have the students decided to name our new mascot? After tallying all of the student votes, Marilyn anointed The Red Oaks School squirrel as "Nibbles!" Shout out to fourth grader Daniel Lvovich for wearing the squirrel costume in Coach Gary's absence. Daniel was such a good sport. He shook hands with all of our Primary students and even waved to parents on the porch! Check out some highlights above!
Later that evening, the spirit of Spirit Day, made its way up the road to our Speedwell Campus. The afternoon clouds gave way to abundant sunshine just in time for families to gather on the front lawn for an evening of music with Gina Ferragame! Along with fellow musicians, Mariam O'Brien and Linda Regan, Gina lead our Red Oaks Community in a set of interactive, family-friendly songs. Our students gave Gina a joyful surprise when they sang her song "We Need Love" and knew all the words! Check out the clip from Gina's blog below. You can read her entire blog post on the evening here. Many thanks to Gina Ferragame, Mariam O'Brien, and Linda Regan, and all of our Red Oaks families for making this an event to remember! And special thanks to Red Oaks music teacher Mr. Tim Waters for creating this wonderful opportunity.
