It was a standing ovation for our Upper Elementary's production of "The Adventures of Lewis & Clark" on Friday, January 26! After a successful morning dress rehearsal in front of their younger peers, 3rd and 4th grade students performed their hearts out a second time for families and friends. The musical production served as the perfect interdisciplinary tool by allowing students to develop musical performance skills, while also adding perspective to their study of Westward Expansion in Social Studies! This was evident following the performance when students proudly displayed their academic work including detailed journals about their triumphs and tragedies traveling the Oregon Trail.
Congratulations to all of our Upper Elementary students for their hard work and beautiful performances! Many thanks to music teacher Tim Waters for leading this tremendous effort and thanks to our dedicated Upper Elementary teachers for all of their support. Special shout outs to art teacher Emily Cannestro and makerspace teacher Dan Fenelon for assisting our students in creating that stunning backdrop and those innovative costumes!
