On May 4, the Speedwell Campus welcomed a very special guest, Kelsang Dechok, Buddhist nun, and grandmother to ROS students Julia and Daniel Dippold. All Middle School faculty, staff, and students were led in meditation during the town meeting and Ms. Anna Macleod described the experience as “magical and very calming.” Students also learned about the origins of Tibetan names. Unlike the English language, the family name comes first in Tibetan. In this case, her family name “Kelsang” means “fortunate one” and “Dechok” translates to blissful nature. We send our heartfelt thanks to Kelsang Dechok for providing our students with this wonderful experience!
