Cutler Street's Upper Elementary had some familiar visitors on Tuesday, November 28th! Middle School teacher Ms. Spring and her 5th and 6th grade advisory class took time out of their busy schedules to visit with our 3rd and 4th grade students and discuss life at the Red Oaks Middle School! Each of Ms. Spring's advisees had a moment to share one thing that surprised them about the Middle School and one tip for success. Common surprises included: more homework, more freedom (yet more responsibility), and Chromebook game day! Some noted tips for success: "Don't procrastinate!" "Practice your typing skills. You do a lot of typing!" "Don't quit. If you try your best and ask for help, things will come easier to you."
Eager Upper El students also had a chance to ask questions during an enthusiastic Q & A session. Middle School students took turns answering questions such as, "When does school start and when does it end?" "Do you bring your own supplies?" "What is a potluck lunch?" "Are you allowed to speak English in Spanish class?"
Many thanks to Ms. Spring, her advisees, and everyone involved in making this visit happen. Red Oaks plans to have more events that unite the Cutler and Speedwell campuses in the coming months! We may have two locations, but we are truly ONE school.
