First and Second Grade students are reading up a storm thanks in part to our generous Fund-A-Need donors! Lower Elementary is introducing “Readers Workshop” this school year, an acclaimed reading program developed at Teachers College, Columbia University.  Already used in Grades 3–6, Readers Workshop is carefully sequenced and builds in increased time for students to be reading, reading, reading! “The reading volume is incredible,” remarked Lower Elementary teacher Sue Rankin. “It’s fantastic! Thank goodness we have the books to meet the needs of our growing readers. It really speaks to the parent support here at Red Oaks.”
