Robots, Mazes, and Aboriginal Art?

Thanks to Mr. Dan Fenelon and our Elementary students, the Makerspace at Cutler Street has had quite the eclectic week!  Upper Elementary students designed and constructed mazes out of various materials in the robot "arena". After adding some aesthetic touches to their robots, students used the mBot iPad app to navigate their robots throughout their mazes. The catch? A robot cannot touch any object or it has to start from the beginning! Meanwhile, Lower Elementary students took a break from the world of bots to focus on something more colorful, and more, Australian. 1st and 2nd graders started collectively working on a large painting using the dotting technique of the Aboriginals. The final piece will serve as the backdrop to their upcoming presentation on Australia!
