Lead by Mr. Michael and Ms. Jo-Ann, an exercise in diversity and inclusion was not lost on our students. Working in multi-age groupings, students identified words that defined each other using The Cultural Iceberg diagram (see below). This translated into a giant Wordle (see below) to represent the variety of interests, religions, nationalities, and even frequently used words among the students. Taking this exercise to the next level, students then created image prototypes to represent their four self-descriptive words, which would ultimately create (when assembled) a Red Oaks School D&I Quilt. Conclusion? We are all a part of a whole. We are a very diverse group of students. We are all different. And, that’s to be celebrated!
