It is hard to believe right now, but spring is coming and with it days lived outdoors. And this extended winter will make the warmer weather and longer days all the sweeter. The annual Spring Plant Sale is your opportunity to kick that experience up a notch or more. Please review the plant packets that were sent home a couple of weeks ago and place your orders ASAP so Master Gardener Laura Rehm can hand pick your plants soon. Due to the weather and school closures, the deadline has been extended until after spring break. BTW, if you haven't overwintered your custom arrangements from last year's sale, bring in the container and Laura will replant it for you and give you a $5 discount on this year's mini garden.
Now for the shout-out portion of this piece – yes, "wagons and water bottles!" We are asking you to save recyclable plastic water bottles and bring them into school. Laura will use them in the planters to lighten the load of soil required and the overall weight of the item. Also, we need wagons to move plants about during the planting phase in late April and early May.
Watch for an email with the sign-up link to arrive in your inbox soon. We will need volunteers to help plant in April. Make that "Willing Volunteers"—our third W. Thanks!
