Red Oaks is a school where children are more than accepted, they are celebrated for who they are and for their potential to become fearless learners and innovative leaders. Our faith in them, in concert with dynamic curriculum and inspired teaching, leads to self-motivation, academic achievement, social and personal growth.

Education like this is priceless, but it isn’t free. Each year the costs of our extraordinary programs outweigh our tuition income by 15%. This is typical for all non-profits.

The Red Oaks School Annual Fund supports every aspect of your child’s experience. Your important gift keeps our community strong and united in enabling our children to meet an increasingly complex and global future.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does Red Oaks fundraise? Isn't tuition enough?

Simply put, tuition does not cover the full cost of a Red Oaks School education. As an independent school, Red Oaks does not receive any financial support from national, state, or local government and relies solely on tuition fees and proceeds from fundraising to meet operating expenses. Tuition alone covers 85% of the cost of a Red Oaks education. By keeping Red Oaks' tuition rates competitive, every student in the school is subsidized by the Annual Fund.

What is the Red Oaks Annual Fund?

A critical component of maintaining a foundation as strong as ours is an unwavering focus on meeting our annual operating goals. Your gift to the Annual Fund is an investment in the programs and people that make Red Oaks what it is – an extraordinary environment for learning. Donations go directly toward providing financial aid to qualifying students, retaining the highest quality of faculty, upgrading technology, and providing opportunities for professional development.

Who is asked for an Annual Fund Gift?

Everyone in the Red Oaks family is asked to contribute – parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty, staff, and friends of the school. Each fall, community members are asked to make a gift or pledge payable by June 30th of the following summer. Please note that gifts must be made by December 31st to be deductible during that tax year.

How much does Red Oaks expect me to give?

Each gift supports the current year's programming. We hope that every family can find a way to participate, according to their means. Red Oaks is truly grateful for every gift.

Why is participation important?

Your contribution to Red Oaks is a vital demonstration of your commitment to our school and to ensure that current students continue to receive an extraordinary education at Red Oaks. By making The Red Oaks School a philanthropic priority, you ensure that our students spend each day in a dynamic, engaging, and safe environment.

What is the difference between the Annual Fund and a Capital Campaign or Major Gift Program?

Annual Fund contributions are solicited and made each year to help fund current operations. Capital gifts and major gifts are generally larger – usually made over a 3-4 year period – and fund long-term projects such as endowment and new construction.

What about my company's Matching Gift Program?

Many companies match gifts to independent schools. To find out if your employer will match your gift to Red Oaks, check with your company's personnel office. If your employer participates in a matching gifts program, you will be provided with a form to complete and submit to the Red Oaks business office, along with your gift. Red Oaks will secure the matching gift. Your donation to the school and your company's matching gift will be included as part of your total donation.
