Auction Item Details

The auction offering has three components that work together for a complete look or can be enjoyed separately. The complete offering is an exclusive and limited run for this auction and is valued at upwards of $400!

Our Story

The Parents' Association is excited to bring to you a special auction of 10 limited edition handbags! Each bag is embellished with a custom Merzatta red oak leaf, a work of art! Our goals – to create a signature handbag that will resonate with our Red Oaks Community and beyond, to bring together local artists and artisans in collaboration for mutual benefit, and to raise money for The Red Oaks School.

With the aesthetic influence of Maggie Rapp, of Changing Colors LLC and the commitment of local custom jeweler Danielle Merzatta, we knew that the handbags would be embellished with a unique design of Merzatta workmanship that would be rooted in organic influences that is her signature. We sourced a fashion-forward woven handbag and, with the expert workmanship of Chris Pane, owner of Flower Basket Ladybug, enhanced it with a custom-designed and custom-made pouch to hold all the essentials.

All agree the completed signature handbag is sophisticated, on trend, and functional. Each element works perfectly together or is desirable on its own. With the realities of the pandemic, the hurdle to overcome was "how to show" all of you what has been created. We are fortunate to have in our midst an amazingly talented photographer, and Red Oaks parent, Ira Black! We know you will agree that his artist's eye has captured all the essential elements of the handbag including Merzatta's red oak leaf and the impressive design process to create it. His model, Emmanuelle Fleurinor, a Red Oaks mom, demonstrates how the bag is well suited to a regular day about town or a weekend get-away.

We know you will love it as much as we do! So get bidding – there are only 10!

As we reflect upon gratitude, the Parents' Association wants you to know there are many ways to show your support for Red Oaks. Participating in this unique opportunity allows you to do it in style! All proceeds of this exciting auction will benefit The Red Oaks School Annual Fund.
